I was writing the email asking you what I can do about having previously ordered the Madison Ave. DVD & before I could even finish, you wrote to me telling me that I have a $113 credit for having already purchased it. How do you do it? I found your website about a week ago & signed up for your email's asap & then of course I ordered every single training video you have the following after seeing the quality of your talent & training style. Just in this last week the amount of skill I've gained just from the "free" training alone is incredible & I'm far from a beginner. It's almost embarrassing how much I didn't know, I've been a photographer all of my life so I knew of Photoshop but didn't really get into it until a little bit less than a year ago & since then it's all I do. I'll soon be in school for graphic design because digital art is my love, anyway my point is that I have previously invested at least $400-$500 in video training alone, then when you add up the books (I don't even want to think about the total). I have learned alot from all that & that's kind of my point, you can imagine my surprise when after all of that I realized I was learning faster & more efficiently from free emails, I thought maybe I'd pick up one or two things but I've learned alot.

 My DVD Training (The MEGA package & the Tutorial Key training) should arrive today & I can't wait. Knowing how much I've learned just from your free stuff I can't even imagine what the video's will be like. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with people like me, it's truly a service to our kind. Thank you.

"Orion, Just had to drop you a note on your "First Edition" Photoshop Designer DVD series that I purchased in March 2004. I have gotten thru the first 2 DVD's; file basics and patterns selections and adjustments. I thought I had a good knowledge of Photoshop until you showed me in the DVD's how much I didn't know. I had been trying to teach myself Photoshop by purchasing magazines with cover cd's that had tut's on Photoshop and by reading the "gurus" books. Nothing, repeat nothing, comes close to your DVD's.

It is like you are right here teaching me, one on one. The other tut's I got from the magazines did not come close to your easy to follow course. I would buy 3 magazines a month on Photoshop, each costing about $14.00, that is $42.00 a month. Just about each and every month. Now that I purchased your DVD collection for $97.00 I am only buying maybe one magazine a month. Your DVD collection is a steal at $97.00 for all the information that in in it, and I am only into the first 2 DVD's.

My mind may not be able to contain all the Photoshop knowledge you have on the DVD's. I really want to thank you for the easy to understand way you go thru the lessons on the DVD's. It has give me the ability to get more out of Photoshop than with anything else. Im not sure if Im ready for this as Im still a newbie, but I'll try this
weekend. Anyway, Ive printed and read your Basic Photoshop tutorials
and I may say, that I have been doing a part time studies course for 1
1/2 years now on desktop publishing which incorporates Photoshop and
this is the only time that I fully understand and got the full grasp of
the Basics of Photoshop when I read your manual, much, much better than
the school manuals and some Photoshop books that Ive read.

Your tutorials are well written and well visually laid out that even a newbie
like me will no doubt be able to follow the steps. Now Im excited and
wish I'll get your DVDs sooner. So far Ive just studied one of the PSD
files and I found them really useful in the sense that it gave me ideas
how I could enhance my artwork better, and how to file things in layers
etc. I do layering before but I notice that the way you organised your
layering in sets is a great help to me in organising my layers.
Now it seems that I may find my part time studies soooo boring.

What's happening is in school the teacher gives us a project brief that we will
do (this is on our second stage of photoshop - Certificate 4); gives us
a hard copy example and that's about it. We then produce a project and
all they do is comment without giving us more information how to enhance
our work nor the way it should be done.

I once asked regarding those
techno art and the only response I got is that I have to start clicking
all those other filter tools and be inventive. Its too frustrating to
us newbies coz we see posters that are beautifully made and yet the
teachers wont give us ideas how its done.
So I was just so amazed when I saw all your freebies psd files it really
shows everything, actuallly NO NEED for a teacher or the classroom. The
only thing I regret is its only now that I happen to stumble to your
site. 

Well sorry for taking up much of your time, Im just so excited on these
tutorials and cant help myself giving you a feedback.

HI Orion,
Majority of my work are creating logos and covers, which I may say your tutorials are really good as it gave me ideas how to enhance the images to my covers. However the creation of logos is one of my weaknesses as I dont know how to make those beautiful effects in texts. Have you got some tips or some information how I could do this?

I was off work for a few weeks with shoulder surgery. What a pleasant surprise to find that I had won “Most Improved” student category. As I told the people here at work, all the courses I have taken have shown me how to use Photoshop but not what it can do. For example, my courses state that this is the gradient tool. This is how you use it but your tutorials say; this is the gradient tool and this is what it can do. I am really looking forward to the advanced course that I won. You have helped me so much in making my job projects more professional and interesting. I am now considering taking a design course to help me understand layout and colour. Thanks again.

It's good to know you were in the Army and now doing something productive outside the military. It's also, good to know people can market themselves once the get out of the militay and make a good living. I always tell my soldiers to start working on their skills and goals while they are in the Army and use them when they get out. Thanks for the inspiration.
P.S. do your DVDs cover tutorials on magazine covers? Reason I keep see magazines with the person on the cover in front of the name of the magazine, but the bottom half of the picture is in front of the name. Other then a green screen do you have any ideas how this is done? Thanks

Things are going great. The only problem I'm having is trying to do to much to fast. Retension is a problem at my age but repitition is resolving that little setback. I've learned a lot....not as much as I wish, but I'm happy. I think I need to slow down and get the basics down pat. I look at your poster designs and spend to much time trying to duplicate them. My wife says, "You not only think like a computer, your beginning to look like one." ...I sure do like your stuff!!!

The DVDs have open my eyes to a lot of powerful information that you can do using PhotoShop and it has also helped me out making DVD Menus using Encore DVD. If I were you I would get a few video tutorials out on your sites at the
very least, Samples of Your DVD's. Almost everyone does that now.

With all the tutorials that are on photoshopuser.com I am somewhat
surprised to see that there is nothing from you there. Won't the Kelby
brothers let you post tutorials there?

Thank you for all the tutorials you have sent.
As much as I thought that six months would be enough to get me up and running I am afraid I was being a little too ambitious.
Photoshop is probably the most in-depth program I have ever used and each tut is linked in so many ways to others.
Just when I think I have mastered something a link takes me to another area and I find myself being side-tracked to look at it - (I know, concentration is the key).
After the last few months I have come to realise that I was being very generous to myself in the time scale I allowed, and now know that it will take me a lot longer to get out of the basic stage.
As much as I would like to purchase your disc driven lessons I am nowhere near ready, nor in a good enough financial position to afford it. I hope you will understand and will not object if I continue to learn at the current pace through your on line tutorials.
